Pondering over the bounties of Allah He - peace be upon him - said: "Ponder over the bounties of Allah, And do not ponder over Allah" [Narrated by Tabarani in Al-Awsat and by Baihaqy in Al - Shi'ab and Albaani classified it as good]
And amongst the matters that are repetitive and numerous times throughout the day and night of a Muslim is {experiencing the bounties of Allah upon him}, so how many a situation and how many a scene that he sees or hears about in his day and night which obligates pondering and contemplating this bounty on him and thanking Allah for it.
1- Have you experienced the bounty of Allah on you when going to the mosque and how those around you have been deprived of this bounty, and specifically during Fajr prayer when you look at the houses of the Muslims and they are deep sleep as if they are dead.
2- Have you experienced the bounty of Allah upon you while you are travelling on a road and you see various sights, this one has been involved in a motor vehicle accident, and this one has elevated the voice of Satan (i.e music) from his car, etc.
3- Have you experienced the bounty of Allah upon you when you listen to or read the world news about the famine, the floods, the spreading of diseases and accidents, earthquakes, wars and displacement]
*I say that surely the enabled slave: is the one whose heart, feelings & emotions are not void of the bounties of Allah upon him in every situation and scene, then he always remains in the praise of Allah and His gratitude and in extolment of Him, no matter what bounty He is in, of religion, health, wealth, safety from evil...
And in the hadeeth, he - peace be upon him - said: "Whoever sees an afflicted person and says 'All prase be to Allah Who has saved me from what He has afflicted you with, and (Who) has favoured me greatly above many of His creation', he will not be afflicted by that hardship" [Tirmidhi said this Hadeeth is good].
